One of the members in my Next Panel Webcomics Club mentioned in his own comic that doing a Willy Wonka theme is pretty obligatory for our trade; and coincidentally I was already working on this comic when he posted it. I have no clear theory on why Charlie and Chocolate Factory makes for such a fun playground, but it certainly checks off my boxes for ridiculous scenarios.
